About Our Studio
Our weaving studio is our home. The Kalika’s Loom weavery sits on a sleepy hillside in Hout Bay, where the cats live who keep our weaving in good company.
Kalika, a black, stately feline, is the master of the manor. It is under his adoring eyes atop Linda’s loom that the vision for a weaving collective was born.
The Weaving Collective
Products on this site not under the Kalika’s Loom brand are created in weaveries and homes across the greater Cape Peninsula. All are members of the Cape Weaver’s Guild. We have it in good faith, their studios are ruled by cats too.
Weaving Workshops
Our studio is open for half day and full day workshops where you can learn to make and complete a simple product. The added bonuses are falling in love with fibre arts and of course a cuddle with Kalika
Come stay at Kalika’s Rooms
For anyone wishing to escape the northern winters, we offer extended stays in our sunny weavery accommodation, complete with mountain and sea views. Weave for hours on end in a private studio beside undisturbed ocean vistas. Kalika welcomes all swallows.

I bought a large floor rug from Linda for my bedroom, and it totally transformed the space from empty and spacious to cozy and grounding. Her use of warm colours and soft but still rugged wools was the perfect earthy touch to complete my dream navajo themed bedroom.
